Qualifications     

Essential:     HNC in Computing related subject (experience level may be considered)

Preferred:    Microsoft qualifications (MCDST, MCP)

Knowledge & Experience    

Essential:    Windows 7/XP, Server 2003/2008, Office 2007 Pro, Desktip/Laptop configuration, Active Directory Administration, Monitoring/Helpdesk software, LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, Backup software 
Preferred:    DNS/DHCP, DFS, Exchange Server, Terminal Server/Citrix, Group Policy, VMWare/Virtualisation, ITIL Foundation, Basic Cisco networking (routing/switching)

Skills    

Essential:     Good communication skills.  A good team player with strong organisational skills.  Excellent problem solving skills.  Excellent customer service skills.    

Qualities    

Essential:      Self motivated and able to work under pressure.  Pro active approach.  Happy and willing to work overtime when required.  Well presented. 
   
 

Main responsibilities include: 

  • Ensure the efficient use of your working time
  • Maintain good timekeeping at all times
  • Liaise with HR and Departmental Managers regarding new starts and leavers, IT equipment, set up and telephones
  • Train and coach ACE Winches employees on all good work practices and standards within IT
  • Deliver IT induction for all ACE Winches employees
  • Continually improve work through training, ongoing work experience and appraisals
  • Support and maintain all ACE’s IT, liaising with nominated company for IT support when necessary
  • Assist in the implementation, monitoring and review of processes and procedures
  • Assist in the creation of ACE Winches IT Operating System as well as the management and provision of hardware and software as required
  • Take ownership of and maintain the ACE hardware and software IT Library
  • Retain minimum stocks of all consumables and parts according to usage requirements
  • Take ownership of user problems and be pro-active when dealing with IT issues
  • Log all incidents / requests in the ACE Helpdesk system and ensure resolution and close out
  • Ensure all computer hardware and software licenses are valid and renewed prior to expiration
  • Assist in the maintenance of ACE’s telecom systems – including landlines and internal ACE network
  • Support and maintain ACE Winches mobile phone, blackberry, contracts and networks
  • Assist in office moves where IT is require
  •  Ensure backup schedules are adhered to and checked
