Hours of Work

0700-1700, Mon to Thu

0700-1500, Fri

A guaranteed 6 hours overtime (1530-1700 Mon-Thu) at time and half is offered weekly.

Qualifications     

Essential:     Good secondary education

Preferred:    HNC or equivalent in Engineering.  Time served Mechanical Craftsman

Knowledge & Experience    

Essential:     Experience working in a similar company

Preferred:    Knowledge of manual Machining on Lathes, VTL's, Milling Machines and Horizontal Borers

Skills    

Essential:     Skilled machinist.  Ability to organise and manage resources

Preferred:    Good communicator with the ability to prioritise workloads

Qualities    

Essential:     Self motivated with good attention to detail.  Ability to use own initiative but works well in a team.  Prepared to work

                   overtime and nightshift when required

Preferred:    Can work under pressure, set and achieve deadlines

Main responsibilities include:

• Carry out work according to Master Project Plan
• To follow instructions given in written form or verbally from Machine Controller
• To carry out all works according to machining drawings received.
• To make notes on drawings where errors are found and feedback to Machine Controller
• To report any breakages or damages immediately
• To report any shortages in material or tooling immediately
• To monitor and maintain machines and hand tools
